Richard Harrison (1936–2026) was an American physique model and actor who became a familiar face of 1950s beefcake magazines before building an international film career. Born in Salt Lake City, he moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, worked in gyms, and modeled for publications including Adonis, Body Beautiful, and Physique Pictorial.
His muscular build and Hollywood good looks helped him transition into acting, initially in small American film roles and then as the star of the Italian adventure The Invincible Gladiator (1961). Harrison went on to appear in more than 100 films, spanning sword-and-sandal epics, spaghetti westerns, spy adventures, and Asian action movies. He died on September 18, 2026, aged 90.
